Weaver.

I just purchased a Loom.  I can't wait to try my hand at weaving, and add that to my yarn addiction craziness.

I purchased a Kromski Harp, Rigid heddle loom.

I'm very excited to get started, I hope I have enough yarn to practice with!  I should be receiving it within the next 3 days.

I'm spinning.....

Well, back a few days - I received a big bag of raw wool on Friday, I've spent all weekend washing wool.  Its super dirty - I can't really spin it into yarn as I don't have carding brushes or a drum carder (Fancy Kitten on wish list!) however, I ordered a drop spindle from a shop on Etsy last week and it came in a kit, well two drop spindles and some lovely roving.  A top whorl and bottom whorl spindle - I found I prefer the bottom whorl, I can roll it off my leg and get a good spin going.....
I gave it a go... spun up some thick and thin yarn (HA HA) it looked really cool.

I then dyed it with kool-aid. Berry and Grape.

Just waiting for it to dry, then I'm going to knit a really funky looking hat!

Above: some of the really dirty wool I've been washing, this lot has been washed 4 or 5 times already.

So I got side tracked....

I post too much stuff on Facebook and forget to update my blog.

Haven't been here since November - wowza!

So much has gone on, so many things have been handmade, hats, socks, baby blankets, booties and baby boots, PJ pants, fancy frilly outfits, purses and grocery bags.

I'm currently bouncing between crochet and sewing, I have two baby blankets I'm working on and sewing things for my daughter and I.   (no I'm not expecting a baby! HA)

I will try keep up here.....  Last year my goal was just to have more posts than the year before - and I will do that again!................... 1 down.
