Knitting for 2011

I just purchased the 2011 page a day knitting calendar.  I can't wait to get it.
There is a crochet one as well, I might get that one too!

Birthday!!!

Happy Birthday to my son, who turns 11 today.

He received a brand new Mongoose bike from us, as well as a  DSL Nerf Armor Dark Blue/White

He did receive a Kindle Wireless Reading Device, Free 3G, 6" Display, White - 2nd Generation from us a while ago - and he loves it, I've read a few books on it myself.  The amount of space saved is my main motivation for having the kindle.  No more piles of books all over.
I do however still buy recipe books or knitting pattern books etc..

Knitting food!

Today I needed something fun to do, so I logged into Ravelry to find something...

I found my way to http://doortje-d.blogspot

and made this:

Rest in Peace sweet Bucky boy.

Our Sweet goat Bucky passed away on August 2nd. He will be missed.

Weekend Fencing..

We spent this past weekend putting up a new fence, electric. I've put it off for so long, being a little nervous about Rosie's reaction to it.

Rosie loves it, and her goat friend Molly seems to be fine with it as well - they're thrilled to have all that extra grass (and weeds) and have spent the last few days "mowing".

I have not seen Rosie touch the wire, she seems to just know that its not something she wants to get to close to. Molly did sniff it once, it zapped her on the nose, not too bad, but she knows not to go near it now and has avoiding contacting it again.

Cheese - Feta

I decided earlier in the summer to try my hand at making cheese. I followed the recipe on the FiasCo farm website.
