Weekend Fencing..

We spent this past weekend putting up a new fence, electric. I've put it off for so long, being a little nervous about Rosie's reaction to it.

Rosie loves it, and her goat friend Molly seems to be fine with it as well - they're thrilled to have all that extra grass (and weeds) and have spent the last few days "mowing".

I have not seen Rosie touch the wire, she seems to just know that its not something she wants to get to close to. Molly did sniff it once, it zapped her on the nose, not too bad, but she knows not to go near it now and has avoiding contacting it again.

Cheese - Feta

I decided earlier in the summer to try my hand at making cheese. I followed the recipe on the FiasCo farm website.

I started Needlefelting in Feb this year, these are some of the faces I've made.

Hmmmmm apple butter spread.

Just finished up a batch of Apple butter.
20 apples from our trees.
about 2 1/2 cups of sugar, I used 2 brown and half white.
2 tablespoons cinnamon
1 tablespoon apple pie spice.

Core and peel apples, cut in slices and pop into a crock pot with the sugar and spices.
Cook on high for 3-4 hours.

Throw into a blender and blend all the chunks and juices up together - enjoy your apple butter!

Summer has gone

Summer has left us!! Its chilly and damp with rain.

I started knitting again, this time I'm "Twining" a form of Swedish knitting using two strands of yarn and weaving them together while knitting. Creating a double thick knitted item. My "item" is an ear flap hat!

I totally forgot I even HAD a blog.

I created this blog to share my knitting and crochet patterns. Its too hot now to be doing any of that.
I have been busy with other things, painting and re-doing the kitchen, putting up some mosaic tiles and I just finished re-upholstering my couch.
